During this month's Girl Scout Meeting, the girls had the opportunity to take a self-defense class at our local martial arts studio which happens to be right across the street from our house! Handy! They earned one of their last daisy petals with this class - it's called Courageous & Strong.
This idea came about when there was a bully issue at school that was basically isolated to the 1st graders. This particular student has since been removed from the school, but hopefully the lessons they learned will stick with them. The girls all had an absolute blast and I am fairly certain that most of them now want to take karate lessons :)
